Hurricane Rita is coming
Rita, a category 5 hurricane is heading towardTexas. It's gonna arrive in Austin sometime this Saturday. The forecast shows that the wind speed can reach 70 miles per hour in Austin this weekend. Residents in Houston are evacuating. My roommate's sister may come for the weekend from Houston. From NO's experiences, people are panic loading all kinds of stuffs. The Walmart that I went to after work today sold out drinking waters. I grabbed a lot of food and am getting ready for the hurricane at home. Hopefully by then we still have electricity. I also fueled my tank in case I need to evacuate to Dallas. :P Flash light, radio, food, drinking water and extra cellphone battery are ready at hand.

UPDATE:
It is Thursday morning and very calm. Great sun and no wind.
My flash light is broken. I replace it with some candles. A corded telephone was added to avoid the loss of function of cordless phones due to blackouts.

Still no sign of Rita in Austin this morning. Good news again. Rita is turning toward Louisiana instead of heading directly into Texas.
Clear sky, sunshine and no sign of the hurricane are here this morning. Rita is now Category 1 and moving away to the east. Looks like 白忙活了:)
