Congress Avenue Bridge Bat Flight

I went to see the famous bat flight of Austin this evening. One of the most amazing sights in Austin takes place every evening from March to early November, when 1.5 million Mexican free-tailed bats emerge from their roosts under the Congress Avenue Bridge. It was a little too late to see this spectacular view. The best time should be from late July to mid August. When the bats came out this evening, it was very dark. Here are what I got from my crappy camera. Blacks Bats in the Dark. Oh, yes. Black in the dark. HoHo.

Comments:
I'm super envious. If you ever get the chance, get some pictures of your own... they've been posting the same tired old pix of the cloud of bats for 3 years now.
