Tax
It is the tax season again. Unlike that I always get tax returns before, this year, it is the first time that I owe money to Uncle Sam. I spent two weekends studying forms NR1040, 8843 and etc. I mailed my tax forms two weeks ago and my check was cashed one week ago. Since I have not been contacted so far, I suppose that I did everything correctly. I'm very proud of myself. :)
Car Maintenance
My car odometer is close to 90K miles. I heard that the timing belt should be changed, 60K for Toyota and 90K for Honda. I had several quotes, $380 ($500 if water pump is changed at the same time) from a Honda dealer, and $250 from A1, the Vietnamese garage that I often go to. My roommate suggests me to do it at the dealership as changing timing belt is a delicate job. I was happy that I checked my user manual before taking my car to the garage. The manual clearly says my honda civic can work till 105K. Haha. It is really great. I don't have to change it until next year. Yeah!!!
